Todd lives on a planet where only men are present and no women are around. They exist influenced by an entity known as Noise, which allows them to see and hear each other's thoughts in a floating stream of elements around their heads. But when a mysterious ship crash lands on the planet with a young woman whose thoughts aren't readable as she's unaffected by the Noise, Tom's world is challenged as he discovers his planet's secrets.
